Junior Tennis Initiative

The Junior Tennis Initiative (JTI) for ages 5-12,  is the foundation stage of player development, providing children aged 5 to 12 with a positive and engaging introduction to tennis. In line with International Tennis Federation (ITF) principles, this phase focuses on fundamental movement skills, coordination, and basic tennis techniques. Players are encouraged to enjoy the sport while building a strong base for future participation and development.

  • Grow Grassroots Participation and Competition

  • Strengthen National Tennis Systems

Global Impact

The JTI is active in over 140 ITF member nations and has introduced hundreds of thousands of children to tennis worldwide. 
 

The program also supports coaches and building capacity in local communities to deliver tennis activities.

3 programs

The Initiative is split into 3 programs annually, with each program running for 12 weeks and includes 12-one hour training session for each child. At the end of each program a Festival Fun Day is held to celebrate the young athletes.

Jordan Development Training Program

JTI Players who demonstrate talent, commitment, and motivation can progress to the Development Program. This phase focuses on the systematic development of technical, tactical, physical, and mental competencies, all supported by structured training and regular competition. This lays the groundwork  for future high-performance pathways.

Orange Ball

The Jordan Tennis Federation Development Program is an exclusive initiative dedicated to nurturing promising young tennis talent, providing comprehensive training in both technical skills and physical conditioning.

Green Ball

Led by experienced coaches, the program offers rigorous sessions aimed at honing fundamental techniques and enhancing overall athleticism. Additionally, it emphasizes mental toughness, sportsmanship, and a balanced lifestyle to foster holistic growth.

Yellow Ball

By instilling a strong foundation of skills, fitness, and personal integrity, the program aims to empower young athletes to excel on national and international stages, shaping them into impactful contributors to the world of tennis

National Teams

The National Team is the high-performance stage of the pathway, designed for athletes preparing to compete at the highest national and international levels. Players follow individualized, performance-driven training programs that prioritize advanced technical and tactical execution, physical conditioning, mental resilience, and competition planning. This phase prepares athletes to represent Jordan in elite international events and mental competencies, supported by structured training and regular competition.

Men's National Team

Comprises the kingdoms’s top-male ranked players. The team competes at the elite international level, representing Jordan at prestigious events, such as the Davis Cup, showcasing talent through high level competition and sportsmanship.

Women's National Team

Featuring the nation’s top female players, the team competes in elite international competitions including the Billie Jean King Cup, demonstrating our commitment to the continued growth of women’s tennis in Jordan.

Junior National Team

Represents the country’s emerging talent. Selected from the nation’s most promising young athletes, the team competes internationally in ITF and ATF  junior competitions, developing future national representatives through elite competition and international experience.
